Why I Will Forever Think Of John Stamos On This Day

Three years ago on this very day, I had the official best day of my life thus far- I married my best friend!  Best decision ever.  Even when I'm bummed out about other things, I love my life with The Hubs, and I am still amazed at how our love continues to grow, even after these many, many years together.  Somehow, I never tire of him, and it's totally awesome.  Yay us!

I've been thinking a lot about the wedding and the days before it for a few days now.  The ceremony and reception took place at the same venue, a b-e-a-uuutiful resort in Williamsburg called Kingsmill (which, btw, is ah-MAZE-ing in every way).  My parents, my bridesmaids, and I all went down 2 nights before to relax and hang out at the spa before the big event.  While we were all together, we were talking about (what else) TV shows and our favorite wedding episodes from over the years.  Since my ladies and I are children of the 90's, every one of us mentioned the wedding of Jesse Katsopolis and Rebecca Donaldson on Full House, especially the fact that Uncle Jesse sang Aunt Becky an awesomely cheesy song called "Forever" (which is really a Beach Boys song).  Amazingly, we could all sing at least one line of it, despite the fact that none of us had seen it in yeeeears.  We even laughed about the even cheesier video that he made in later episodes once he got signed to Fat Fish Records (holy crap, why didn't my parents make me play outside more??).

So, on January 19, 2008, I woke up in a cushy bed in a gorgeous hotel room with my best girl friends in the world, and we turned on the TV to see what the weather was going to be that day (spoiler alert: IT SNOWED!!), and, lo and behold, Full House was on.  Not just any episode, however.  It was amazingly the episode where Uncle Jesse's video debuts.  We all cracked up so bad, and I took it as one of many signs that it was going to be a great day.

And it was.

Enjoy the cheese, just like we did three wonderful years ago!  Love you, Hubs.  Forever.

  1. I would like to thank you for putting that song, along with the mullet vision of Uncle Jesse in my head. Now, I need to go drink.
