Day 13 – Favorite childhood show

This entry will be video heavy.  There is no show from my childhood that I love more than The Cosby Show.  Simply hearing the theme song(s) takes me right back to the living room, with our old TV and the red carpet and the comfy sofa.  Family time with us was also family time with the Huxtables.  I loved how their family seemed just like ours (only funnier), despite the obvious differences between us (the biggest being that they lived in that fancy, beautiful brownstone in Brooklyn!).

Below are just a few of my favorite bits, starting with my favorite bit.

Phylicia Rashad is basically the HBIC.

(I've thought of this moment so, so, SO many times over my lifetime.  Regular people.)

The best part?  Almost every single one of these scenes takes place in the SAME ROOM.  Man, I sure did love that living room.
(And with this, I'm all caught up!!)

Day 12 – An episode you’ve watched more than 5 times

I don't understand how I'm supposed to talk about any other TV show besides Veronica Mars because OMG DID YOU SEE DID YOU SEEEEEE!  AAAAAAH.  I'm trying to justify spending $350 to get Jason Dohring/Logan Echolls to record me an outgoing voicemail.  Hubs isn't in agreement.  He's such a hater.

Oh yeah, but I'm not talking about Veronica Mars today... though I'm fairly certain I've seen the entire series 5 times.  I've seen oh-so-many TV series more than 5 times (for Friends, it's more like 20 times).  This particular episode of this particular show gives me lots of happiness.

How I Met Your Mother, season 2, episode 9... "Slap Bet."
This episode is a new classic not only for the slap bet which is amazing, but for the introduction to Robin Sparkles.  If you haven't seen this, I cannot remotely do it justice with my words.  So let this video do the talking.  You won't be soar-y.

This is back when HIMYM gave me all of the happies and didn't disappoint me like it kind of is right now.  JUST SHOW US THE MOTHER ALREADY, SAGET.  This episode is made for a rewatch, though.  So hilarious, every single time.  The audio commentary is pretty great too.  Yes, I've watched this episode enough times that I've watched it with commentary.

Day 11 – A Show That Disappointed You

If you don't know what show I'm about to drop right here, then you clearly don't know me.

Show.  Seriously.  It started so strong.  SO STRONG.  That pilot!  The polar bear!  The message in French!  THE FIRST, LIKE, TEN MINUTES.  And the rest of that first season?!  Man, oh MAN.  Compelling as all hell.  It's like the longest best movie you've ever seen.

Then the writers were like, oh you like mysteries?  Well, here's a BUNCHA stuff.  We're not gonna solve any of the original questions either.  We're just keep giving you MORE USELESS STUFF.  So I tried to break up with it.  Then, the Season Three Finale happened, and so...

Yeah.  By that point, it was announced it was going to Season Six and I stayed in just to stay in but SERIOUSLY.  LOST.  OMG.  WHY.

the numbers are bad.

Day 10 – A Show You Thought You Wouldn’t Like But Ended Up Loving

So, two more days of two posts a day.  Are you just loving all the extra jeskuh time?  I know you are.  I've been enjoying this challenge very much.  It's reminding me of shows and episodes and quotes and things that make me happy.  I tried to get Hubs to let me restart Friday Night Lights last night after writing about it.  He wouldn't let me, though he did let me restart another show I haven't watched for years.  But more on that later.

For today, I have a story.  Um, duh.  I always do.  My topic today is a show I thought I wouldn't like but ended up loving.  The show in question: 30 Rock.
I was excited to watch it when it first aired, though I was more excited about Studio 60, and I was confused by all the sketch comedy based shows all airing at the same time and my brain can only hold so much knowledge, y'all.  So then, we watched it.  And we didn't really think it was that funny.  Hubs and I gave it a few episodes, mostly because all of the funniest people we knew and trusted were like, "OMG FUNNIEST SHOW EVARRR," but... we couldn't see it.  Thus, we bid it adieu.

Two Thanksgivings ago, my SIL is like, "Jes are you seriously not into 30 Rock?  You have to go to there!  Have you seen yourself?  You are Liz Lemon!"
chocolaaaate. p.s. thanks for the pic, elizabeth.
So, I gave it another go.  And that, as they say, is history.  Awesome history.

Day 09 – Best scene ever

This one will be short BUT that's because this is the EASIEST CHOICE.  This video includes my favorite scene of any show ever.  No ifs, ands, or buts.  No second choices.  It's this.  It's Spaced.  It's the gunfight, y'all.

What I love about this video is that it gives you all the background you need to understand why the last 2 minutes are so hilarious.  By the by, if you haven't watched Spaced and you're a fan of Shaun of the Dead and/or Hot Fuzz, you need to watch this show, like, yesterday.

Best ever, right?  EVER.  Spaced is the perfect example of how British shows get it right.  There's no filler.  There's no time to screw up and jump the shark.  It's just humor and nerd jokes and a slice of fried gold.

Day 08 – A show everyone should watch

Yes, I know I'm behind.  I wish I wasn't.  However, I'm behind because I took a weekend to relax and unwind and hang out with almost all of my besties (all except the BEST BESTIE).  So, while I'm sad to be behind, I'm not sad for the reason.  So, I'll do 2 posts today and 2 tomorrow.  We we we so excited.

What show should everyone watch?  Friday Night Lights.

Why should everyone watch this?  Well, there are so many reasons.
For that.

For her.

And this kid right here, YES this kid.  Also?  (Keep on scrolling)

AND THAT GUY.
Yeah, absolutely that guy.

Also, it's some of the best writing and acting and music and camera work and stuff that's ever been on television.  So. So. So. SO. good.

Day 07 – Least Favorite Episode of Your Favorite TV Show

I'm posting this from the Blogger app again so sorry for the lack of gifs and stuff. I got called out by a certain Elizabeth... So I thought I'd post a short & sweet something to try and keep from being too behind. Plus, this one's kind of easy.

Buffy has some random bits, but my least favorite episode is this one from Season Two when Buffy was in its greatness called "Go Fish." It's like swim team meets Swamp Thing, and it's pointless and gross... Except for the part when Xander wears a Speedo. That part's okay.

When I'm back at my laptop, maybe I'll add some fun pictures of that or possibly more nonsense from this. Until then, I hope you enjoyed this text-only post typed using only my thumbs. Ain't evolution grand?
